Since the redesign of this unused area of the school
The Edible Garden has developed into a useful and enjoyable outdoor classroom .
What started as an aspirational idea to promote employability and real life experiences to the students of both Oak Lodge and Oak Bridge became a reality in under 12 months with the opening of our shop, The Lodge.
Learning to cycle is an important educational outcome for all young people. As well as providing great physical exercise, the ability to ride a bicycle opens up a world of opportunity for many of our students.
School life is educating your body as well as your mind. Hearts of Oak has provided specialist equipment to enable our students to have fun while exercising.
Funded entirely by our biggest supporters - city law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer - this new minibus will support our student's learning and enjoyement outside of the school.
Hearts of Oak donated this wonderful (and tuneful) set of outdoor music equipment, that allows any student to indulge in music making during break times.
To enhance their education and supplement their physical, and cognitive development, the school aims to offer all of the 165 students at Oak Lodge School opportunities to participate in residential trips. In 2014 & 2015, nearly all of the students were able to stay at beautiful locations and take part in activities that they had never tried before.
The ultimate aim of Oak Lodge School is to prepare students for life in the outside world. Equipped with a kitchen, cafe area, and shop, the Freshfields Cafe provides an environment in which Sixth Form pupils can gain quality work experience in a real world setting, preparing food, serving customers and selling craft merchandise.
An essential component in supporting the development of young adults with additional needs is the provision of a comprhensive multisensory, multidisciplinary complimentary therapies. Hearts of Oak continues to support the school therapy services by providing top class equipment.
